With our team, registered as a non-competitive team, we will participate again this year in the fundraising to support the information, prevention and treatment activities promoted by the Susan Komen association.
When will the Race for the Cure take place in Rome?
This year, the Race for the Cure will take place on Sunday, May 11th at 10:00 a.m., in the Circo Massimo area. Considering the expected large participation, it is advisable to arrive early. For further updates, visit raceforthecure.it and komen.it in the days leading up to the event.
What is RACE FOR THE CURE?
The RACE FOR THE CURE is the emblematic event of Komen Italia and the largest demonstration against breast cancer in Italy and in the world. It takes place under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, in Rome at the Circus Maximus and in four other Italian cities: Bari, Bologna, Brescia, Matera and Naples. It is a sport, health and solidarity event open to all. The protagonists of the RACE FOR THE CURE are the women in pink, women who are facing or have faced breast cancer. The women in pink, by wearing their pink jersey, raise public awareness on the importance of prevention. This will send a strong message of encouragement to the 56,000 women who face the disease in Italy every year.
What does Susan Komen do?
Komen Italia is a volunteer-based organization that works in the fight against breast cancer throughout the country. Founded in 2000, it aims to:
- Stimulate training, research and innovation in women’s health
- Promote prevention and the adoption of healthy lifestyles
- Protecting the right to excellent care for every woman affected by breast cancer
- Offer services to improve the quality of life after cancer, especially for women with metastatic disease
- Collaborate with other associations and finance projects on the national territory
Komen Italia is the first international affiliate of Susan G. Komen of Dallas, the leading global organization active in this field for over 30 years.

Ours is a NON-competitive team: you don’t have to run, you can walk and opt for the short 5 KM route or the long 10 KM route.
