Insalata Caprese (Caprese Salad) is a perfect end of summer appetizer or side dish, especially at the top of  tomatoes season .

You don’t need to be a Masterchef to delight your guests with this simple delicious recipe! The Caprese salad is a ever greed dish in Summer time.

The origins bring us on the Isle of Capri.

One of the stories related to the birth of this simple and tasty dish, is connected to a particularly patriotic bricklayer , who stuffed his sandwiches during lunch break with tomatoes, mozzarella and basil to recall the colors of the flag of Italy. An other theory , tells us that the dish was firstly cooked in the luxury hotel of Capri “Quisisana” is a completely different context, as a tribute to Filippo Tommaso Marinetti.
