FRASCATI/ CASTELLI ROMANI
Frascati is the most famous village in the Castelli Romani area. Despite the name that in Italian means “Castles” you will rarely see them. Indeed, the name lays to the upper position overlooking Rome from above, when sentinels used to alarm in case of attack of enemies to the City of Rome.
This historycal settlement is one of the first wine making region in Italy. Etruscan wine culture is indeed older than the ancient roman one. Nowadays Latium region is living a new era in winemaking, thanks to small producers, often family run, who are in charge to defend the natural heritage of winefarming.
We’ll visit a renowned family vineyard, tasting good local wines.

If time allows, we may also stop at the enchanting village of Nemi, known as the “strawberry village.” Perched on the edge of a dormant volcano, it overlooks the beautiful Lake Nemi, which has been a site for various activities since ancient Roman times and has held secrets for centuries..
